Our Mission

2nd Chess Opportunity is a faith-based nonprofit organization founded by a United States Marine Corps Veteran and a current Atlanta Police Department officer with over 10 years of law enforcement experience. The organization was established by a leader who served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps (2012–2016) and has dedicated his life to service—both in uniform and in the community.

In addition to public service, the founder holds an undergraduate degree in Christian Ministry from Liberty University and brings over a decade of experience in youth ministry and youth development services. This unique blend of military discipline, law enforcement insight, and faith-based leadership shapes the heart and direction of everything we do.

2nd Chess Opportunity is built on the belief that everyone deserves a second chance—regardless of their past. Our mission and daily work are grounded in Matthew 25:35, which serves as the foundation for our service:

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.”

Our goal is to strengthen and rebuild communities throughout the Metro Atlanta area through faithful service, mentorship, counseling, and community engagement. We are committed to showing up consistently, leading with love, and creating lasting impact.

At the core of our mission is the next generation. Everything we do is centered on pouring into children and young adults, equipping them with the tools, guidance, and support needed to succeed—because when we invest in our youth, we transform families, communities, and futures.
